Fire Door Surveys

Professionally delivered fire door surveys from NPG Fire Safety.

Fire doors are a crucial aspect of fire safety in buildings. They are designed to prevent the spread of fire and smoke by providing a barrier between different areas of a building and protecting the means of escape.

Regular fire door surveys are essential to ensure that all fire doors in a building are functioning correctly and meet the required safety standards. This is particularly important in high-risk environments such as hotels, hospitals, schools, and care homes. The frequency of fire door surveys can vary depending on the type of building and the level of risk. However, our team recommends that fire door surveys are conducted at least once a year, preferably every 6 months, in accordance with BS 9999.

The Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 came into effect on the 23rd of January 2023. The regulation makes a requirement for the Responsible Person in blocks of flats above 11m in height to carry out annual checks of flat entrance doors and quarterly checks of fire doors in common parts. NPG Fire Safety can undertake these fire door checks on behalf of the Responsible Person.

At NPG Fire Safety, we will conduct a thorough fire door survey to ensure that all fire doors in your building are functioning correctly and provide adequate protection in the event of a fire. Our surveyor inspects every fire door for any signs of damage and wear and tear and includes the door frames, hinges, locks, glazing, and seals. The surveyor also verifies if the fire doors have the correct labels and signage. The surveyor conducts a detailed assessment of each door, considering its type and location in the building.

We will provide a detailed report on the condition of each fire door, highlighting any defects or issues that need to be addressed. The report will also include recommendations for repair or replacement of any faulty doors.

All of our surveyors are third party accredited through the National Association of Fire Door Inspectors (NAFDI). NPG Fire Safety Ltd is listed on the National Association of Fire Door Inspectors under membership number 101021.
